Historic Governors Headline Opening of Hawai`i for Hillary HQ

The first Asian American and Japanese American governor in the U.S. and our nation’s first Native Hawaiian and first Filipino American governors headlined today’s opening of the Hawai’i for Hillary office in Honolulu.

George Ariyoshi served as governor of the Aloha State from 1974 to 1986, and was the country’s first Asian American governor.

John D. Waihe’e III was governor from 1984 to 1994, and was the first Native Hawaii governor in the U.S.

Benjamin J. Cayetano was governor from 1994 to 2002, and was the nation’s first Filipino American governor.

Hawai’i’s Democratic presidential caucus is on March 26.
